Celebrate the Fourth of July Greenville Pops style! The GSO returns to the Simpsonville Amphitheatre stage at Heritage Park for a special, free concert on Saturday, July 2, 2016. Gates to the family-friendly event open at 5:00 p.m.; activities begin at 6:00 p.m. and the GSO concert is scheduled to begin at 8:00 p.m.
This year’s activities will feature a military jump team, a rock climbing wall, military vehicles on display, and a Flag Retirement Ceremony by the Boy Scouts of America. The event’s festivities conclude with the GSO’s annual Patriotic Pops concert complete with an exciting cannon barrage timed to Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture. The concert features many favorite patriotic tunes including “Fourth O’July,” “Armed Forces Salute,” and “Stars and Stripes Forever,” and culminates with a dazzling and spectacular eighteen-minute fireworks display!
The Independence Day Celebration activities and concert are free to the public, and attendees are invited to bring their lawn chairs and blankets, however food and drink will not be permitted on the park grounds — food and drink may be purchased from vendors upon entrance to the park.
The event is sponsored by The City of Simpsonville, Greenville County, and Greenville Health System, and is produced by TRZ Management. For more information on the Independence Day Celebration at Heritage Park, click here.
