Gershwin: Porgy and Bess: Symphonic Picture

Our grand finale presents American music at its very best!  The touching story of Romeo and Juliet of the twentieth century unfolding on the dangerous streets of New York is followed by the dazzling tribute to the Boston Pops Orchestra which Leonard Bernstein pays in his witty Divertimento.  Finally, George Gershwin draws musical pictures of community life at Cat Fish Row in 1920’s Charleston.
